Snow Day-Finished Painting

Here’s the finished painting:

I continued to add details to the fur, finishing the wolf and then the foreground and just a suggestion of trees in the background.

Kay creates hand drawn pastel paintings of animals capturing their spirit and personality. Her lifelike paintings seem so real they could speak. Her favorite subjects are horses and wolves. She has loved and admired horses since childhood. She has had a varied career as an illustrator and graphic artist. She has designed illustrations for book covers, logos, and Christmas cards.     I like how you made the fur look so soft you can almost feel it. When looking at wolf art most artists use a harshness to capture the wild aspect or to show fierce strength but my favorite wolf art shows the softer side. After wolves are where our canine best friends descended from. Excellent work Kay!
